2nd November 2025 at 3pm Sara Trickey (violin) & Daniel Tong (piano)
Sara Trickey (violin) & Daniel Tong (piano) Sara enjoys an exciting and diverse career as a solo violinist and chamber musician. Noted for her “fiery and passionate” performances (The Strad) and her “beautifully refined tone” (Musical Opinion), Sara has performed most of the repertoire for violin and orchestra, with orchestras that include the City of London Sinfonia and the Orchestra of St John’s. She also made a world premiere recording of Mathias’ violin sonatas. She plays regularly with Daniel, our own Artistic Director. with whom she has recorded the Schubert Sonatinas to critical acclaim (“Irresistible!” – Barry Millington). They will be playing music by Beethoven and Ravel.
7th December 2025 at 3pm Ferdinand Piano Trio Florence Cooke (violin), Christoph Richter(cello) & Nicola Eimer (piano)
Florence is internationally recognised as a chamber musician and soloist, and has performed in Europe, the US, Canada, China, South America and Australia. She is the winner of many prizes and awards, including the Myra Hess award, Nigel Brown Prize, Razumovsky Trust award. Christoph performs as soloist and chamber musician throughout the world, with invitations from musicians such as András Schiff, Miriam Fried and Isabelle Faust, and festivals including the Salzburg Festival and Marlboro Festival in the US. Nicola is a graduate of the Juilliard School, and has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across Europe, America and Asia. She was a prize winner at the Dudley, John Lill and the Royal Overseas League competitions, and has given recitals and concerto performances across the UK. They will be playing Schumann, Henze and Mendelssohn.
25th January 2026 at 3pm Martin Cousin (piano)
Martin is regarded as one of the most exceptional pianists of his generation, having been awarded 1st Prize at the 2005 Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition (Seregno, Italy) and Gold Medal at the 2003 Royal Over-Seas League Music Competition (London). Since graduating from the Royal College of Music, he has performed in major British musical venues including the Purcell Room and the Wigmore Hall. He has performed as concerto soloist with the London Philharmonic, Halle, Royal Philharmonic, Philharmonia and BBC Concert Orchestras. Performances further afield have included tours of New Zealand, the US, Italy and concerts in Stockholm, Brussels, Toronto, Tokyo, Berne and The Hague. He will by playing Beethoven, Brahms and Schumann.
22nd February 2026 at 3pm Sarah Williamson (clarinet) & Simon Callaghan (piano)
After achieving international recognition as a BBC Young Musician finalist, Sarah is renowned as a virtuoso clarinettist whose talent has been recognised by concert-goers and critics alike. She has performed at many of the world’s major concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, The Wigmore Hall, The South Bank Centre, The Berlin Concerthaus and The Tonhalle Zurich. Simon performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, in parallel with a highly successful career as a recording artist. He is Artistic Director at London’s celebrated Conway Hall, only the sixth incumbent since the founding of the series in 1887, and Professor of Piano at the Royal Northern College of Music. Their programme will include Finzi, Poulenc and Brahms.
29th March 2026 at 3pm Ewan Millar (oboe) & Tomos Boyles (piano)
This concert will be a celebration of music for oboe and piano played by two outstanding young performers. In 2020, Ewan won the woodwind final of BBC Young Musician of the Year, advancing to the Grand Final. Of his performance, the Guardian commented: ‘exemplary, a richly shaded account.’ Since the competition, he has been performing as a soloist in recitals around the UK and playing with leading orchestras and ensembles. Rising Welsh star Tomos Boyles is also rapidly carving out a career as a young and exciting concert pianist, described as possessing a ‘romantic flair and passion that only comes from intense involvement’ (Carol Nixon, LMC). They will be playing Ravel, Barber, Boulanger and Schumann.
26th April 2026 at 3pm Joseph & Daniel Tong (piano duo)
Brothers Joseph and Daniel Tong have been playing together for over 30 years, since their early performance at the South Bank Centre. Joseph is an accomplished soloist, having performed concertos and recital programmes at home and around the world. He is keenly interested in the piano music of Sibelius and regularly tours Finland at many musical centres including the composer’s own home, Ainola. Daniel’s life is spent with music, as solo and chamber pianist, teacher and writer. He has played at all the major venues and festivals in the UK and is frequently heard on BBC Radio. He is a founder member of the London Bridge Trio, director of the Wye Valley Chamber Music Festival, and Head of Performance at Junior Academy (Royal Academy of Music). Joseph and Daniel will be playing both solo and piano duos by Schubert, Mozart and Chaminade.
